ARRANGEMENTS FOR A WELCOME

Auckland, September 11. A deputation of leading citizens waited on the Mayor this morning and asked him to call a public meeting in view of arranging a suitable reception for Bir Joseph Ward on bis arrival at Auckland on September 30th. The Mayor agreed to call a meeting on Wednesday next, when representatives of the local bodies will be invited to attend.
