Death of Mrs R. Parr.
Thb many friends of Mrs Parr, wife of one fellow townsman, Mr Keufcen Parr, will regret to learn of her death,; which event took place at Nurse Francis’ Private 'Hospital, Auckland, •®ly yesterday morning. The debat e I iathr had been ailing for a long time past, and although her death was not altogether unexpected, nevertheless the loss of a ■ wife and mother came as a shock to Jkose nearest and dearest to her. The deceased arrived in New Zealand in the ©nrly part of 1862, and at the time of her demise had reached the good age of 72 years. Deceased leaves a husband and. grown-up family of two sons and 4hree daughters to mourn their loss. Of the children, the eldest, Mr C. J. Parr, is one of the partners in the well-known finn of Messrs Parr and Blomfield, solicitors, of Auckland. He is also Chairman of the Board of Education. The second son, Mr John Parr, is the senior partner in the firm of Messrs Parr and Anlfeld, merchants, also of Auckland. Of the three daughters, Mrs Wm. Hodgson, is re*ident in this djptrict, whilst the other two, Mrs Cocoran and Mrs Atkinson, reside at Thames and Cambridge respectively. The late Mrs Parr was of a quiet and unassuming disposition, aDd a Christian in the truest sense of the word. She was always ready to help those in distress, and her many acts of kindness will long be remembered. We extend onr heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved husband and family in their hour of trouble. The funeral will leave the deceased’s late residence, Waihou, at 3 o’clock this .(Saturday) afternoon.
