Chinese Guides in San Francisco.
San Francisco, August 15*. The Chinese declare that six companies who are practically the governers of Chinatown in San Francisco, have urged the city authorities to suppress guides conducting v.sitors thitherr. They declare that the guides maintain opium dens and pay the Chinese to smoke opium in order to enhance the value of their services. They promise that the offensive features of Chinatown will disappear if guides are suppressed.
