REMARKS.
The month was characterised by generally wet and stormy weather with the heaviest rainfall so far recorded for July, viz., 9.60 inches for 19 wet days, an increase of three inches over the rainfall for July 1908, when 6.59 inches were recorded for a period of 21 wet days. The heaviest day’s rain was on the 9th, when 2.95 inches fell. A violent gale was experienced on the 3rd and 4th insts., with heavy rain, 2.50 inches tailing on the 3rd, and the wind hjpwing with almost cyclonic fury.
