Wreck of the Maori.
London, August 5. The Shaw, Savill aud Albion Company s well-known line: Maori, which * 8 engaged in the London and New land trade for many years, has been totally wrecked on Duyka Point, near Capetown, while on a voyage from don io Lyttelton and Dunedin, with a cargo of general merchandise for ports. The Maori left London on July 9th for New Zealand, via Capetown ana Launceston, under command Nicoll. On Wednesday, July 2lßt ' B ° e called at her first port, Capetown, o replenish her coal bunkers, and let P town on the continuation of her voy g that day. Soon after leaving, she ran ashore at Duyka Point. She had no, P sengers aboard at the time. Lloy port states that the vessel has broken up, and that the lighter portion of the cargo is afloat. Reuter’s Capetown Agency advises that so far as is at present a two of those aboard the Maori drowned, and nine have landed, Christchurch, August o. The Maori had 4100 tons of cargo lor Dunedin, and 400 tons for Lyttelton. The crew numbered about 00. vessel was valued at £50,000 or £6O, » Details of the cargo are unknown.
