Manawaru Notes.

(From Our Own Correspondent.)

Considering the time of the year we are having excellent weather, and there appears to be a lot of growth in the ground. Everything looks favourable for a good season for us farmers.

The New Zealand Dairy Association’s Creamery started operations again on Monday, August 2nd, suppliers receiving lid per lb. During the interim a larger separator has been installed, and the premises overhauled. A much larger supply is anticipated this year, as the prices paid act as a magnet to the suppliers. ~ Mr Thomson is again in charge, and a more capable man it would be hard to find.

I am pleased to learn that our neighbour, Mr H. H. Osborne, who went to the Waihi Hospital some time ago, is doing well, and will soon be out of that institution.

I have to record yet another marriage. Mr W. Bridgman has joined the noble army of Benedicts. A few jovial spirits from the village serenaded the young man who has crossed the bridge of single blessedness and entered the joys of matrimonial bliss, and discoursed sweet music on instruments of the kerosene tin order. The roof is on our new Town Hall, so that we shall soon have a place wherein to hold meetings, etc. It is rumoured that Mr Thackeray intends treating us to an open house, as a good omen to the success of the venture, “Your Own’’ trusts such is the case, as he is looking forward to having a right royal time. There lare several very bad holes on the Stanley Hoad that i equire attention, before there is an accident. I called attention to this before, but the holes are getting deeper and more dangerous every year. What is our member doing that he does not get the Supervisor to attend to these matters ?

Mr Ward contemplates spending a month or so at Rotorua: I sincerely trust the rest and change will do him good.
