A new type of bullet, for which much is claimed by its inventor, Mr H, F. Chaffey, of Christchurch, has just been patented. The new bullet is perforated longitudinally, so that the frontal resistance of the air is reduced, and the vacuum in its wake “ ventilated,” so to speak, by the rush of air through the back of the projectile. This, it is claimed, will make for increased velocity.
