St. David’s Presbyterian Church.
ANNUAL MEETING. This annual meeting of St. David’s Presbyterian Church was held in the Te Aroha Church on Friday evening last. Representatives of the following districts were present:—Morrinsville, Manawaru, Te Aroha West, and Waihou. Notwithstanding the boisterous weather there was a good attendance of members and adherents. The Rev, Blair occupied the chair. The meeting opened by singing the 10th Psalm and prayer. l The balance-sheet and annual report were read by the Secretary, Mr Wright, and showed a very creditable statement of the year just ended. The following were elected committers for the various districts Te Aroha, Messrs D. McL. Wallace. J. Brown, W. Brodie (Treasurer). L. Buchan, S. Hill, D. Baibour, and E. Wright, secretary ; Manawaru, Messrs Cowley and Beer; Waitoa, Messrs Maclean and Matheson ; Waibou, Messrs Ross and Borrie, Morrinsville : Messrs Howie, Campbell, Reed, and Cameron ; Ngarua, Messrs T. Hanna, and McDonald ; Gordon, Messrs Brooks and Downard ; Te Aroha West, Messrs Coulter and Ferguson. The Sunday Schod report and balance sheet was read by the superintendent, Mr E. Wright and showed an iLereae rf scholars on the previous year. The number of scholars on the roll totalled 59. The average attendance equalled (il p.c., for the last quarter ending 30th June. Owing to the increase of scholars another teacher to take a boy’s class is urgently needed. The usual votes of thanks to the office bearers, organist, and choir were passed, after which the following musical items were rendered: —Song, Mr S. Hanna; cornet solo, “Star of Betbleham,” Mr L. Buchan ; duet, “ The Last Mileston,” Mrs Axford and Mrs Brodie; song, Mrs Blair, “The Voice of the Fathersong, Miss Nona Stanley, “Kiss me Good-night. Daddy;” song, Rev. Blair, '• Thou art Passing Hence.” The Rev. Reed (Methodist) who was present gave an interesting address. Rev. Blair gave a humorous Scotch reading.
Light refreshments were handed rouad at the conclusion by the ladies of the church, which needless to say was dnno full justice to. The meeting closed with the Doxology.
