It having been rumoured that there is a probability of the Tourist Department abandoning the management of the Domain Tea Kiosk, and letting the building, residents, and especially those with a thought of the care of the suffering, quickly moved in the direction of securing this building for the use of a Cottage Hospital for Te Aroha and district. The building and the surroundings, are favourably situated for this purpose. A petition, in charge of Capt. Lyons-Montgomery, has been going the rounds during the past few days with this end in view, praying that the Government allow the building to. be used as a Cottage Hospital, expending thereon the sum already granted, £1,200. The Hospital to be under the management of the Waikato Hospital Board. We trust the Government will gee its way to grant the request of the petitioners, as by so doing it will add to the popularity of our Sanatorium, and assist towards relieving the pains of suffering humanity.
