Departure of the Maoris.

Wellington, July 7. A large crowd gathered on the Queen’s Wharf,Jat noon to see the Island steamer Hanapouri move off with the party of Rotorua Maoris bound for New York. The natives gave two dances on the upper deck. Akuhata Kiharoa, a venerable chief of Ohinemutu. exhorted them to be on their best behaviour. The steamer will remain in the stream until three o’clock, and await the arrival of the Ulimaroa from Sydney.
