The local Christian Eudeavour Society commemorated their first anniversary by holding a public tea and sacred concert in the Phoenix Hall on Wednesday last, and the result was very satisfactory to the promoters. Two long tables were erected fa the hall, and were filled several times, thp youngsters particularly having a good time, After tea the hall was cleared, and a concert was held, consisting of songs, recitations and addresses by local members, assisted by friends from Hamilton. The Rev. Reed was in the chair, and Pastor Mill, Mrs Blamires and Mr E. Gibbs were among the speakers, After the concert supper was available for the modest sura ©E 3d. The whole function speaks well for the first year’s progress of tho Society, which has some real live members' The charge of odc shilling and threepence was, indeed, very reasonable.

This is a loss to both the Club and the Union,
