CORRESPONDENCE.
(We are n:t responsible for the opinions expressed by our correspondents.) (To the Editor) SIR.—In reply to the letter in Thursday’s issue, iu which Your Own Correspondent suggests that the ( Manawaru Co-op. should pay interest on their shares, I would state that interest cannot be paid without taking part of the earnings derived from the milk of the present suppliers, and giving it to those who deserted the Company, and tried their best, at the time of leaving it, and afterwards, to wreck the Company, and very nearly succeededin doing so. As I am writing, I may also mention that our balance-sheet has since been made up and audited, and it has been decided by the directors to give a further bonus of 1 d on the last two months of the season, although the price of butter had then fallen. As to tho other letter, by the funny man, who never signs his name, I do not consider it worth notice.-I am, etc., J. Squirrell.
