IE PROGRESSIVE DAIRYMAN. A dairyman is really progressive hen he— Sends that bull that is “just a ill ” to the butcher, and puts a ire-bred animal of the best possible idividuality in his place. Sells off all his non-breeding, nonroducing “ pets ” in the herd. Tacks a milk record sheet up in is dairy, and begins to keep an ccurate record of the pounds of milk roduced by every cow in the herd wice a day and every day in the ear. Arranges some adequate method of andling the manure—both dry and iquid. Surprises the cows and himsell by .weeping down the cobwebs and jiving the interior of the dairy barn i lively coat of whitewash. Watches his records closely. Insists that every cow brought into the herd shall be guaranteed to come up to a certain standard of production.
Quits the practice of selling all :alves, both bulls and heifers.
