Waihou Notes.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Everything out this way is much the same as usual. Nothing very stirring.
The horse sale brought a fair number of strangers into Waihou, and things seemed lively while it lasted. Our footballors are pretty confident of winning the P.R.U. Cup for 1910 They can’t bo beat, and you will find the ‘ reds ” will win in the long run. Secretary Borrie says the Morrinsville Club has no say in the calling of Union meetings. Why hasn’t it ? I think Dave has made a mistake. I saw by the last News that the Thames Valley Co-op. is talking about getting a footing at Manawaru. I would like to see the Te Aroha Co op interested in that locality. It is rumoured here that our local storekeeper has sold out to Mr II Magill, late of the Waihou Hotel, as from the let of July. We wish Mr Ross prosperity, whichever way he goes, as without doubt he is the best man we have ever had in the store, and hope that Mr Magill will also have success in his new venture. He is well known and deservedly respected.
