The Erqgrfßyivp F<uclpe Toprnament in connection with tfip above took place on Thursday in tire Public Ijtall. if-here was pot so large an attendance ns was expected ; however thpse present spent a most cpjoy-able evening. Previous to the toip-nauiont Mr Mclnman’s orchestra played fiwfa mppctjong ip their psuaj good style,' which was much appreciated by those present. When play ceased it was found that Mrs Dr Kenny and Mrs Hill each'nad lfi wins, and in the play off Mrs Kenny was successful in winning first Size, Mrs Hill second, and Mrs Clauson Kird', Sep thh gents,! Messrs Coldieutt apd Fiipinan Bqchan ‘tpd with 14 wins each. In the play off, Mr Coldieutt won first prize, Fireman Buchan second ; four’ gentlemen tied for third with 13 wins each. In the play off, Mr Garroway was successful. In the absence of the Mayor the prizes were presented ip an able foy fhe Mayoress (Mrs R. L. {Corners). Supper was than p;p{pkep pf after which the following musical pen--gramme was rendered : —Two selections ; fiy the Orchestra ; song, “ Peggy,” Fireman Jennings; song, “ Red, White arid fclufi ? ’ (by roquetf), Ve'pran Fireman Maxwell, and in r/aponsf; to ap pppprp gave “ Ben B >lt” ; cornet splo, “ Love j Me and the World is Mine,9 Fireman Buchan.
