QUERTION OF INSURANCE. London. June l._ Mr Ben Kelvington, Grand Master, in addressing a Conference of Manchester Unity of Oddfellows at Bradford, in dwelling on the Government proposal of insurance against invalidity and sickness, protested against any attempt to establish a Stale-aided compulsory form of competition with voluntary thrift movements. ‘A letter from Mr Lloyd George was received stnt’ug that whatever legislation is adopted, care must be taken to safeguard the interests of Friendly Societies to secure active coope.ation in the scheme.
