An Ex-Speaker Sentenced
Ottawa, May 30. Philip Roy, formerly Speaker ofjthe Quebec Legislature, aud manager of the Defunct Banque, de Sainte Jean, has been sentenced to five years imprisonment for furnishing false returns to the Government. On being sentenced Roy unsuccessfully attempted to commit suicide.
