The “Black Hand” Murderers

A DASTARDLY OUTRAGE New York, May 2. A dastardly outrage was perpetrated by the “ Black Hands” in New York yesterday. Some Italians living in a tenement in New York, occupied by 20 Italian families, received a blackmail demand from the “ Black Hand ” for a thousand dollars. With this demand they refused to comply. The “ Black Hand ” thereupon fired * the tenement, which was completely destroyed. Eight of the inmates, including five children, were burned to death.
