Te Aroha Gymnastic Club.

The Sixth Annual Report and Balancesheet to be presented at the general meeting of members to be held in the Public Hall at 8 pm on Monday next, 6th of April: - The Committee ate pleased to' be able to congratulate the Club on its ent ring into its seventh year of existence as .1 Gymnastic Club, and to note the rapid increase of membership from 15 in 1907 to 42 in 1908, and of popularity a 3 was evinced by the splendid public support received. The season just ended was pre-eminently successful in every way. Notwithstanding the extraordinary expenditure the financial position has im proved considerably. The membership has nearly tripled, and the performance of members under the able tuition of instructor Paultridge is now quite an en tertainment. Your committee recommend that this meeting considers the desirability of forming a j unior class, with an age limit to be decided on, with a subscription of 2s 6d per season. Junior practices are to be held on a separate night, at which senior members would also be admitted, but the juniors would have the preference. The seniors if required helping the instructor. Special thanks are due the honorary instructors, Messrs Paultridge and Birtwhistle (assistant) whose unfailing courtesy and kindly methods helped so much to ensure the harmonious working of the Club, also to the veteran gymnast, Mr F. W. Edwards, who so efficiently acted as judge at the annual competition. Much of the Club’s success has been due to the splendid support received from the Press as represented by the Te At? oh a. News and Te Aroha Mail. They have continuously kept us before the public, being ever ready to help on and improve the youth of the town. In conclusion we must thank the Te Aroha Trio, who have always helped in , the past, also the outgoing officers of the Club. 1 —Beceipts— ! £s d 1 Balance from Season 1907 .. 4 6 9 Members'Subseriptions 38 at os 910 0 £ Part do,, 2at 2s .. .. 40 J Donation W.
