Hotel Porter Drowned.
Palmerston, March 29. The body of a man was found on the beach below the Esplanade. From letters in his pocket he is believed to be W. V. Haviland, late porter at the Hasties’ Hotel, Feilding, and Hodgin’s Hotel, Lower Hutt. The body had been in the water three weeks. The coat pockets were full of stones.
