An Exciting Arrest.
Wellington, March 29. Cuba Street was the scene of an exciting arrest on Saturday night, when a constable was attempting to take into custody a drunken man who resisted violently, the latter being encouraged by several persons in the crowd, which consisted of over three hundred people. After an exciting scene the inebriate and three others were arrested and brought before the Court to-day and fined amounts rang; ing from £2 to£-5. For inciting the man to resist one of the defendant’s was also sentenced to a month’s imprisonment.
