The Morrinsville Cricketers paid a visit to Matamata on Wednesday last, but for various reasons only six players put in an appearance. Four substitutes were obtained and a march was played, the bowlers having a day out. Morrinsville' made 7 runs in their firpt attempt. Mason 6 wickets for 3 runs bring very deadly, Thompson 4 for 4 being close up. In their second venture they made 34. 8. Allen 12, not out, reaching double figures, Moore-Joner 6 for 10 and Thompson 3 for eighteen, bowled w 'll. Matamata made 3S in their first inniDgs. Stockdale 16, Thompson 10, reaching double figures. In their second innings they could only reach 27. Oranwick with 8 being top scorer. A. Aitken 14 wickets for 20, was on the job, W. Aitken 5 wickets for 17 rues, also bowled well. The visitors were most hospitably treated by the Matamata players, and much enjoyed the game, though it is very disheartening to players who travel, when others that always turn up to home matches don’t put themselves about to travel.
