Cadet Challenge Shield.

THE PROPOSED DIVISION. At a meeting of the Paeroa High School Committee the other evening, Mr G. Pocock (captain of the school cadet corps) forwarded a letter regarding the proposed challenge shield for shootiug competition by the various cadet corps in the Ohinemuri Battalion. He stated that at a meeting of cadet commanders held at a recent camp at Omahu it was decided that a shield be obtained for competition between the various companies. For the purposes of the competition the schools would be divided into three sections as follows :—Waihi Central and Waihi East; Paeroa and Karangahake; Te Aroha, Waihou and Morrinsville. By this division there would be a high school in each division. Already £lO had betn raised in Waihi, aud if the other districts assisted they would be able to obtain a good shield. Paeroa’s contribution towards the cost would be about £4.

On the motion of Mr Treanor, seconded by Mr Doan, it was decided to reply that the committee was in favour of the scheme and would assist the scheme to the best of its ability.
