The Maffai Gang

AMERICAN DETECTIVE ASS AS SININ ATED. Rome, March 14. The Maffai gang, at Palermo, in broad daylight in a public square, assassinated an American detective named Petrosini, who was investigating their connection with the “ Black Haud Society ” in New York. Petrosini defeuded himself with a revolver, but had no chance of holding off the gang, and received many estiletto wounds. He did more than any man in America to bring Italian criminals to justice.
