Sly Grog Selling.

Gore, March 5.

At the Gore Court this morning Mr Keurick, S.M.. imposed a fine of £3 and Court costs 7s against Frederick Dickson charged-with selling whisky on. January 19th last in a no-liccnse district. .The magistrate said “ It is stated there is no evidence of sale but to persons employed by police for the purpose and I think a ( small fine will meet the case.’’ Charles Pumpa, charged with selling beer, pleaded guilty and was fined £lO with costs 7s. Malachi Hanley (previously convicted) was.sent to gaol for 15 .days, but the warrant will be suspended during the illness of his daughter, and he was ordered to come up for sentence on March 25.

Ashbukton, March 5. Wm. Porter, was fined £SO and costs for sly grog selling in Ashburton.
