Auckland I-ast Night. The first through express, which takes up the regular time-table between Aucklaud and 'ellinvton, left a minute or two aft-r advertised time, 9.15 p.m last night. The train consisted of five ordinary j. asmnger carriages, a sleeper postal van, and two luggage vans. Nearly 200 passengers left by the overland train Thee must have been a crowd of close upon 10 000 people present to witness the departure.
