The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company. Ltd., weekly report:— Horses : At tbe Durham Yards on Friday we had a full yardine: of horses, and under the hammer the greater number were sold. Heavy draughts sold at from £22 10s to £32; medium do., £l6 15s to £2B ; hacks and light harness horses, £5 5s to £2O ; weeds aud ponies, £1 15s to £6 17s 6d ; , dogcart, £lB ; spring-cart, £l2; Suneton (by Eton— Sunshine), 27 guineas.
Cattle :—At the Newmarket Yards on Tuesday theie was a full muster of stock of all descriptions. Dairy cows sold at from £3 10s to £6 12s 6d ; empty cows, £2 Is to £2 188; calve?, 17s to £1 Bs. The beef pens were well filled with cattle of good quality, although mostly light weights. Bidding was brisker and prices firmer than the previous week. Oxen sold to 21s per 100 lbs and cows 17s to 19s. Steers sold at from £6 2s 6d to £9 12s 6d ; cows, £3 10s to £6. Sheep : Sheep were yarded in average numbers at Newmarket on Tuesday and advanced in prices Wethers sold at from 12s 6d to 16s 6d ; ewes, 9s 6d to 15s 6d ; lambs, 10s 6d to 15s 6d ; store do., 6s 6d to 9s ; hoggets, 10s 6d to 13s 9d.
Pigs : Porkers. £1 Is to £1 19s; weaners, 5s 6d to 12s ; baconers, £2 to £2 10s.
At Papakura on Wednesday there was a full muster of stock of all descriptions. Dairy cows of choice quality sold weli at from £4 10s to £8 10s; heifers, £3 15s tf £6 ; empty cows £2 2s 6d to £3 12s 6d ; two to throe year-old steers, £2 10s to £5 2s 6d ; yearlings, £l 18s to £2 7s 6d ; calves 18 to £1 6s. Beef was yarded in full numbers and sold well at Newmarket rates.
We submitted large catalogues of bid's skins, and tallow, all being s«dd under keen competition at advanced ratc9. Bones. £4 l os. Cowtails, Is 8d dozen. Horsehair, Is 3d to Is 94d Wheat: The market is firm at os Id ex store.
Maize : Stocks are very short and the market strong at 4s lid on the wharf. Oats : In good dunmd at 2s 2d ex store.
Chaff: Chaff is coming forward in large quantities, and according to quality finding ready sale. Bran : Stocks are light and the market is firm at £4 15s. Pollard : There is not sufficient for requirements, the small amount coming forward selling freely at £7. Polatoes : Supplies are greatly in excess of the demand and the market is weak at £3 15s to £4.
Butter: The demand for export is good, and all coming to hand is selling readily. Farmers’ separator, good quality 8d to B]d, poor 7Ad to 7|d ; registered brands, and when choice 9d.
Eggs : The small quantities coming forward are eagerly bought in at Is 3d to Is 4d per dozen,
