Runaway Trucks

GUARD’S HEROIC COOLNESS Dunedin, February 8. Two laden tracks got away in some unexplained manner, from Cavershjitu statiou, and came down the incline on the main line at a tremenducus pace and ran into Dunedin station at about 20 miles an bonr.

Guard Stevens, who had just brought the morning train from Clinton, pluckily jumped in to the trucks and succeeded in lowering the brakes, so that fortunately no damage was done.
