London, February 6. Earl Crewe has instructed Sir Chas Lucus, the head of the Dominion Department, to pay a prolonged visit to Australia and New Zealand. Mr A. Pearson accompanies him. Sir C. Lucas sails on February 26. The Times says the visit was doubtless in response to Mr Deakin’s suggestion on the last day of the Imperial Conference Sir C. Lucas has the quiet judgment and kindly tact that will assure him a ready welcome.
