Even after udents leave college many continue > assist with a scheme of organized sperimental work carried on under le auspices of. their Experimental 'nion, of which Mr 0. A. Zavitz, rofessor Of Field Husbandry at the ollege, is secretary. Even in New Zealand we have eard not a little of the successful ex* erimental work (Carried out at , the airy Department p| this college. The dairy herd is' composed mostly f Ilolsteins and Ayrshires. The jrstem of recording the yields of each »w is followed here* as at. the Dolinion Experimental Farm at Ottawa. Special reference was made to one >w of this herd, it gave ,781'91 lb. of utter-fat in 365 days. This is beeved to be the best year-record for a anadian cow, and I was told that it doubtful if any cow beginning her scoTd before she was four years old as done better. The Ontario Agricultural College as for some three years sent a group E five, students to take part in the bock-judging competition at the In* Live Stock Exposition at 'hicago. Last year was the third in accession when the O.A.C. team won ie trophy outright. Those connected rith the O.A.Q. are very proud of his success. „
