Police Court

At a sitting of the Police Court on Tuesday last, before". the abovementioned Justices, a yowng married man, of Waihou, was chartered with indecently assaulting a t eprl of tender years, at Waitoa on 28th December last. Sergeant McKinnon conducted the case on behalf of the Police, Mr Swarbrick (of Hamilton) appeared on behalf of accused. The Court sat, without intermission from 10.30 a.m to 2.30 p.m. A good deal of evidence was taken down. The Bench retired for a few minutes to consider the evidence, and on returning, stated that accused would be committed for sentence at the next sitting of the District Court, to be held at the Thames, on 9th February next Bail was allowed, accused in £IOO and one surety of £IOO.
