RECENT SPORTs MEETING,
We have been requested to publish the following : Owing to the mis - statements appearing in the “ Te Aroha Mail,” we the undersigned members of the. Fire Brigade Sports Committee, emphatically, deny that any mis • statements whatever were made at any meeting of the Committee;by the Secretary or Secretaries.— P. Pilkington (captain), J. Johor soh, C. Jennings, J. Jennings, A. D. Wallace, W. Brenan, J. Maloney. W. Everitt, R. L. Hill, F. Walker, W. B. Maxwell, A. Brenan, L. Buchan, T. A. Kennedy, H. Popple. F. Devey. J. Walsh, C. Cribb;, and E. Monk (absent from town). ; . Owing to the attitude taken up by the Editor of the “Te Aroha Marl’-’ (Mr C. F. Sponer,) in connection with « the recent sports meeting, we,, the members of the Te Fire Brigade Brigade, unanimously agree to refund to the said C. F. Spooner, his donation of 5 shillings towards the Sports Fuuds, —P. Pilkington (capt.), J. Jenninps, F,i Walker, W. Brenan, H. Popple. J. Johnson, W. Everitt, W. B. Maxwell, A. Brenan, L. Buchan, T A. Kennedy, R. S. Hill, J Maloney, C. Jennings, A. D. Wallace, F. Devey. J- Walsh, C. Cribb and E. Monk (absent from the town). We also wish to state that they—the Secretaries—had the full confidence and approval of the Brigade Sports Committee in all their actions in connection with the lat cr Sports meeting. Signed, P.
