In the local option poll of 1905 the figures were as follows: Continuance 182,884 Reduction 151 057 No-license 198,768 Valid votes recorded 387,618
The increased vote on each issue in 1908 as compared with 1906 was as :— ; Continuance 3,418 ; Reduction 10,758 Nor-license 10,376 Valid votes increased 22,579
