POSITION IN PARNELL THE PAKATOA VOTE Auckland, this day. Interviewed yesterday afterroou on the question of the licencing issue so far as affecting Parnell, Mr H. B. Massey returning officer, s’ated that ;he could s|y nothing as to the number of valid votes cast at the poll. Asked if he would say why he could not get the same figures as supplied in other districts, Mr Massey ; said ithat be was unable to supply the total number of valid votes because the deputies had not made their returns clear. He could not give any information until lie went through the returns himself. “Do you not 'kuow the total ptimher of valid vofcis?/ asked the reporter. “No,” said Mr Massey “No on* 1 knows.”
