Own Correspondent. Mr J. Trust, a well-known settler in this district, met with a very painful accident on his farm at midday on Saturday. He was putting his team iu the yard at lunch time and had let one end of the rail down for that purpose. Ha was just following them in when a young horse which wanted t;> follow them jumped at the high end of the rail carrying it round with great force and striking Mr Trust on the leg, breaking both bones, the horse turned right over and came near crushing Mr Trust. He was at once taken to the Hamilton Hospital where be is making good progress, and it is the desire of all that he may’ make a good recoveryMr Herries had a good meeting here on Monday night, the Hall was well filled. A vote of thanks and confidence was carried on the motion of Mr J. C. Allen seconded by Mr Cross.
