MR D. McL. WALLACE’S FACTORY,
Mr D McL. Wallace has just finished a splendid mail coach, built to the order of Mr C. J. Kirk, of Te Awamutu, for tourist and mail traffic to the Waitomo Caves. The workmanship displayed reflects great credit on Mr Wallace’s workmen, and is in every way equal to anything turned out in'the city factories. The vehicle is capable of carrying 18 passengers. Two seats ai-e in front and the top is fitted with an adjustable hood and blinds. The painting and lining is also a work of art. The under carriage and wheels are painted cream, picked out with blue and lined with red, the body being dark wine colour and tan picked out with black lined with white, the letteiing (Waiotomo) with aluminum shaded with vermillion, and the royal monogram, and royal mail in yellow shaded with vermillion.
A baker’s cart, built to the order of C. Thomas, of the Royal Bakery, Te Aroha, is also being finished, and here again Mr Wallace has turned out a fine vehicle. Mr Chum Wallace is busy putting the finishing touches, on it. The body is painted olive green with vermillion ribbon and blue returns, the lettering with aluminum. The wheels and undergear are painted primrose yellow picked out with blue lined with vermillion. n the back ax - e the Royal Crown and lettering royal bakery with a sheaf of wheat at each corner. Both vehicles are on view at the factory and ai - e well worth inspecting.
