FALL OF NOBILITY. Ni London, October 11. « During a presentation to Duke. of Devonshire being made on. an improvised flooring above public baths, Matlock, the supports gave way, and the flooring collapsed. Forty of the ducal party were precipitated a distance of seven feet to the bottom of an empty bath. The number included the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, Duke and Duchess of Rutland, Lord and Lady Crewe, and Lady Manners. All received a severe shaking.. The injuries generally speaking were slight.. An ugly rush took place by a panic stricken audience, fortunately no one was injured.
