Fire at Te Aroba.

On Saturday evening last, about 7.30 o’clock the fire bell rang out an alarm. The seat of the conflagration proved to be a four-roomed bouse at the top of Burgess-street, owned by Mr A.. J. Farmer, and occupied by Mrs J. Given. The Fire Brigade lost no time in arriving on , the scene, and quickly had the water, playing on the burning building. The fire, however, had a good hold but the excellent pressure of water, well manipulated by Captain Pilkington and bis men, soon bad the fire under control The building was insured in the New Zealand Insurance Company for £IOO, and the furniture for £240 in the Royal. We trust soon to see the Brigade shed in a more central and elevated position, from which the Brigade will be given a chance to get quickly to a fire, and, peihaps save the building.
