A WARNING TO ELECTORS.
To the Editor.
Sir, —It is commonly reported that there are persons in this town who are obtaining signatures for enrolment, tinder the Electorate Act, with the promise of sending them on to the Registrar of electors, Tauranga, at the same time retaining or destroying them if the applicant for enrolment happens to be of another “ colour ” to the agent employed. Now, sir, this is dastardly conduct, whether perpetrated by a publican or a prohibitionist. All bona-fide electors should receive from the Registrar of electors, Tauranga, an acknowledgement of their application for enrolment. Those who have not should write direct to the Registrar and enquire the reason. Those who have not registered can obtain the required “ form ” at the local Post Office without running the risk of disappointment by employing fraudu’ent agents.—l am, etc.,
John Dukes.
