Ladies and Gentlemen, I have the honour to announce that I shall be a Candidate for the Tauranga Electorate in the Opposition interest at the forthcoming General Election. I regret that it is impossible for me at the present time to visit you ail personally as I am to the best of my ability fighting for your interests in the Parlia* ment of the Dominion. I shall, however, as soon as Parliament closes, do myself the honour of addressing you in every centre on the political questions of the day. W. H. Harries. Wellington, September 28th, 1908. 382 NNOUNCEMENT OF OUR POLICY. It is now about six months since we virtually opened out on a new career, and having in view the approaching general elections, we think the present time opportune to definitely set forth our policy in regard to matters politically. With this end to be attained we purpose each week to lay before our readers articles which will bear upon the political situation and embody our ideas as to the right and desirable Government which we as people should expect, demand, and fight for, in the honest conviction that we have the interests and present and future welfare of the Dominion at heart. Next Saturday we shall begin a series of leaders which the community may look for weekly and probably more frequently.
