MORRINSVILLE NOTES.
Tire funeral of the late Mrs Innes which took place at one o’clock on Saturdaj was largely attended, The floral tributes were beautiful and numerous. The Rev. Blair conducted the service at her late residence and at the graveside. Master Robert Warren, son of Mr Albert Warren of this town and an expupil of the local school who passed his Civil Service Exam, last j cal' has been ottered and lias accepted an appointment in the Education Department at Wellington, and expects to leave to take up liis duties during the next few days. Tlie Social promoted by the Railway ! employees, and held in the Phoenix Hall on Friday evening was a decided success, the hall being filled to its utmost capacity the fair isex predominating slightly. A feature of the decorations, which weie well arranged, were the red and green railway lamps and flags, whilst ovei the stage lnmg the Union Jack with N.Z.R. in ferns on it. Mr J, J. Watts supplied the music which was up to his usual high standard, extras being played by several ladies present. The supper was much appreciated, and during the interval .Mi McCartney sang “As in a LookingGlass ” in a very pleasing manner. Messrs Chcsterman and Hutchinson made j capable M.C.’s and Mr A. Craig was the i right man in the right place as Secretary. An innovation was the starting of the dances with the guard's whistle.
