GREAT LOSS OF LIFE London, September 15. Heavy mortality from cholera in Russia has resulted, in energetic precautions being taken in Western Europe, and in London, to hold the scourge in check. Seven thousand deaths have occurred in the last two months in Russia, while in the Phillipine Islands the mortality has also beeu very heavy, the New York Herald reporting 10,681 deaths from cholera in the group.
