THE LAST OF THE MOHICANS.

To the Editor.

Sir, —As a member of the Anglican Church allow me to congratulate the Kev. P. Cleary on the improvement he has wrought in the order of service in that Church. It is now getting a little more like the service ordered by the of England. There is still one recent innovation which should also be swept away. I refer to the guttering candles which are burnt on the altar. Why are they there ? Is it’to give light ? Mso, why is not addional electric umination used. If not for lightening purposes, why are they there ? —I am, etc, Anglican.
