DESERTERS IN AUSTRALIA
Melbourne, September 11. THE battleship Kansas, which remained in Melbourne when the rest of the fleet sailed for Albany pending inquiry into the collision between the fleet collier Ajax and excursion steamer Laura, has taken her departure and will rejoin the fleet at Albany. It is stated that when she left there were still one hundred American sailors missing.
