(From our own Correspondent.) —Our Rcceut Social.—
A meeting of the Committee of the Social recently held in the Schoolroom to provide funds to purchase an organ for use at the Church services. The treasurer reported that the receipts totalled £9 Is and the expenses, 6s. It was resolved that the Secretary make inquiries re purchasing an organ and report accordingly at next meeting. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to all who had assisted financially or otherwise to make the social such an unqualified success. It wos decided to hold the next Social on October 9th, prices to be the same as last. The ladies then went into Committee to make arrangements for catering for next Social.
The Pastures. —
Now that the warm weather has set in and the frosts eased off, the farms in and about the neighbourhood are looking well, and cattle, sheep, horses, etc., are wearing a very sleak appearance!, thus showing the excellent quality of our pastures,
