Moroccan Affairs.

SEVERE FIGHTING.

London, Septembers. Colonel Alix, in charge of 5000 French troops, left Budenih to attack 20,000 Moors encamped at Ajof. The enemy in full strength attacked Colonel Alix’s front and flanks) and made several attempts to to get round Colonel Alix’s rear.

Sapid and accurate artillery fire checked the rushes of the enemy, and prevented them getting near the lines. After several hours’ obstinate fighting the enemy was routed with heavy loss.

They abandoned the camp, tents, and provisions, and were hotly pursued in several directions.

Twenty-two French were wounded.
