THE FUTURE OF AUSTRALIA
Helb urne, September 2. Mr Deacon, speaking at a dinner lendered by the Melbourne Yacht Club to the visiting American officers, said that Australia had for the first time seen a fleet of battleships, and would do well to study the policy of the men behind the guns. Australia wou’d not be content to accept defence ultimately at any other hands than her own.
