WAIHOU 11. V. MATAMATA 11.

This match was played at Waihou on Saturday last, and resulted in a win for Waihou by 8 to 3, after a hardfought game. Mr L. Buchan had charge of the game, and Messrs Moore and O’Grady held the flags. Tries were scored for the winners by Dick Johnstone and Bob Johnstone, one of which P. Johnstono converted into a goal. For Matamata Johnson kicked a penalty goal. Johnstone (3), 'O’Grady, McCarthy, Miller, and Jones all played well for Waihou, and for Matamata, Martin, Garland, Rae, Skelly, and Johnstone were the best. The result of this match gives Te Aroha II a clear lead for the cup.
