Mr Laurenson thought Wellingf , ’ ton was unsuitable for the official capital city of the Dominion as it was too congested. 1 , ‘ Mr Aitken thought it impossible tQ : remove from Wellington. The Hon. Mr Mills looked upon Picton as an ideal spot. The Premier, in his reply, said the committee was not set up to recommend a change of the seat of ‘Parlia- ... - ment, but if they thought it necessary they could undertake that task, .(i ' though it would cause very great delay. returns were necessary to enable them v to intelligently discuss the Statement
which were not down. The Premier said he would do his best to bring ■ them down before the debate was taken.
The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1905, Amendment , v Bill was introduced, and the second .reading pro forma was set down for ? to»morrow.
