MORRINSVILLE

Own Correspondent,

NATIVE LAND QUESTION.

Sir Robert Stout and Mr Ngata M.P., the Royal Commission appointed to enquire into the Native Land question, held a sitting in the Hall on Tuesday and Wednesday for the purpose of taking evidence, but the natives are standing off as they are endeavouring to lease their lands themselves. The Town Board interviewed the Commission with a view to getting them to recommend he government to take over the Native Lands in this vicinity. WHAT WE GROW.

There is on view in Messrs Gumner Bros. Store, a splendid sample of elephant swedes g£own by Mr T. Heath on Lockabie, they turn the scale at twelve pounds each, which is very good considering the drought during the summer.
